Tauri Tuvikene is a professor in urban and cultural geography at the Centre of Landscape and Culture, School of Humanities, Tallinn University. His research covers the intersection of urban cultures, mobilities, cities and policies. His research interests include comparative urbanism and (re)conceptualisation of post-socialism as well as experiences and regulations of urban mobility ranging from automobility to walking and public transport. On these topics, he has published in various top-ranking journals such as International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, City, Geoforum and others.
In 2019, he co-edited the Post-Socialist Urban Infrastructures, a book published by Routledge. From 2019 to 2022, he was a project leader in a transnational project on urban public transport and public space (https://putspace.eu/). Since 2022, he has been the Project Leader of the Capacities for Resilient and Inclusive Urban Public Transport (CARIN-PT) project investigating resilient, integrated and just public transport.
